Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a technique that can be used to help you to create positive changes in your life. Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and focused attention, where you are more open to suggestions that can help you overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

Hypnotherapy can help you access your subconscious mind, where you store your emotions, memories, and beliefs, and reprogram it with new, healthier patterns.

As a supportive practitioner, I can guide you through the hypnotherapy process and help you tap into your inner resources to create real and lasting change. Whether you want to overcome a fear, break a habit, boost your confidence or improve your well-being, hypnotherapy can help you achieve it.

A common question people ask is how many sessions they will need. This depends on your individual situation and goals, but a good average is around six sessions. However, some people may need more or less sessions depending on their progress and needs.

Also included are a selection of relaxation mp3's for you to keep.  These can help aid your relaxation and focus between each session.

I also offer one off complimentary relaxation session for every customer you refer to me who makes a booking!

About me

Hi, I’m John Williams, a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist with a Level 5 Diploma in Psycho-therapeutic Counselling Practice. I am accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a registrant of the National Hypnotherapy Society.  With my credentials out of the way, you may be asking yourself how I came into this field of work?  Good question!!

Before becoming a therapist I worked for the emergency services, assisting vulnerable children and adults. This gave me the opportunity to help people who were at the worst possible stages of their lives, facing issues such as homelessness, abuse, addiction, crime, and mental health problems.  For some, working through these issues came easy while for others it was the biggest challenge of their lives.  At the same time I was saddened by the lack of support that was available for those working within the emergency services. The experiences I had over my 11 years are what ultimately spurred me towards becoming a counsellor, allowing me the opportunity to help others in their time of need.

I use an integrative approach to therapy, which means that I can draw from a wide variety of tools and techniques and tailor the therapy to each client’s unique situation and goals. An integrative approach also means there is shared decision making between you and myself so that we can work together to find the best way to help you . 

​

My philosophy is that we all have the capacity to change, but sometimes the path to find it isn’t always easy to spot or navigate. That’s why I’m here to help you find your way. Whether you want to overcome a specific problem, cope with a difficult emotion, improve your self-esteem, or achieve a personal goal, I can support you on your journey.

 

My ideal client is someone who is ready to make positive changes in their life and who is willing to work collaboratively with me. I believe that therapy is a partnership between two people who share a common purpose: to help you live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Having experience of working with children and young adults, I can adapt my approach to effectively connect with and support them, and assist them in navigating the issues that they may face.
